First agricultural trade fair opens in An Giang

An Giang (VNA) – Agricultural products of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang are being introduced at a trade fair that opened in Long Xuyen city on June 23.
They are showcased at 33 booths of outstanding farmers, cooperatives and enterprises across the province.
The trade fair, the first of its kind in An Giang, aims to promote local agricultural products while introducing safe and high-quality producers to consumers.
Chau Van Ly, President of the An Giang Farmers’ Association, said besides selling products, the event also helps boost demand and supply connection in the province.
During the event, Phan Nam Trading and Services Company will sign contracts with several cooperatives to buy their safe farm produce.
Several products will be selected and introduced to consumers in Ho Chi Minh City to seek their sustainable market.
An Giang’s special agricultural products include net melon, rice, peanuts, fish, mushroom, dragon fruit, orange, mango, pomelo, longan, among others.
A competition to find out the best local agricultural products was also organised in the opening day.
