Building geological indication for lychee in Japan
A delegation of Japanese experts has paid a field trip to Bac Giang province to survey the lychee growing and caring procedures under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards in Thanh Hai commune, Luc Ngan district. The result will be a proof to build the geological indication (GI) for the local lychee in Japan.

The delegates surveyed the cultivation process, control method of quality, production and consumption market for Luc Ngan lychee. The experts suggested the farmers to strictly follow the safe cultivation process, ensuring the product reputation and quality when being exported to foreign markets.
Besides, the local authority and competent agencies should actively support the farmers in terms of technology, preservation procedure and others.
After the actual survey, the Japanese side will boost up GI building schedule for Luc Ngan lychee and organize various promotion activities in Japan so as to further introduce the fruit to the local customers.
In case of success, this will be the first product of Bac Giang province having GI in Japan.
