They including 47 vehicles carrying Yen The hill chickens and 23 others transporting animal products, equivalent to 114.6 percent and 255.6 percent of the previous week’s figures, respectively.

The increase in the number of quarantined consignments of poultry and livestock was thanks to the Covid-19 epidemic basically put under control. Many localities such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong ... eased and lifted social distancing measures, so chicken consumption in these markets increased rapidly. Particularly, there were 46 vehicles carrying quarantined pigs, equal to 47.4 percent against the previous week, as most pigs were sold in the local market.

In addition, the price of live chicken was as stable as that after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, ranging from 52,000-65,000 VND (2.2-2.8 USD) per kg. Meanwhile, the price of live pigs ranged from 72,000-78,000 VND (3.1-3.4 USD) per kg, similar to that before Tet. Therefore, farmers earned high profits.

In 2021, Bac Giang aims to increase the total herd of pigs to 1.2 million and maintain the total fowls at 18.4 million, including 16 million chickens.
