Bac Giang builds organic farming model

The Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee has issued the Decision No. 1940/QD-UBND to approve for the Proposal to build the organic farming model in Bac Giang province in the period 2020 – 2025.

The Proposal targets to gradually change the farming thinking and method.

The Proposal targets to gradually change the production thinking and method (from mostly basing on inorganic production and chemical plant protection product to organic farming) to enhance the quality and food safety, protect the ecological environment and human’s health.

It also acts as a good basic to give instruction on developing the agriculture in the upcoming time, improve the trademark level of farm produce, accelerate a close and synchronous linkage in producing the local agricultural products.

Accordingly, the Proposal will train 40 technical staff and managers at the provincial and district organizations on the professional knowledge about organic cultivation while providing 6 training courses and actual study to 240 representatives of enterprises, cooperatives participating in the organic farming model.

Besides, 6 pilot models are realized to grow and breed the key and signature products of Bac Giang province under organic methods.

Particular, the Proposal supports to build 1 model of organic orange and pomelo with the scale of 1 hectare in Luc Ngan or Lang Giang district, 1 model of organic vegetable cultivation covering 1 hectare in Viet Yen district, 1 model of organic tea growing in 1 hectare in Yen The district.

Regarding the breeding sector, it helps to realize 2 organic pork models with the minimum scale of 300 heads in Luc Nam, Tan Yen, Viet Yen and Yen Dung districts and 1 model of organic chicken breeding with at least 2,000 heads in Yen The district.

The beneficiaries are the enterprises and cooperatives investing in organic production models in the province.
