Since early this year, the export of farm produce has gained positive signals in the northern province of Bac Giang, offering the locality a chance to affirm its position and role on the market.

According to Nguyen The Thi, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee in Luc Ngan district, the issuance of geographical indication (GI) protection certificate to Luc Ngan lychee at such a high demanding market of Japan was a sweet result achieved by the great efforts of the province, district and local farmers for nearly two years. However, the export turnover was gained mostly by garment and textile, electronic, plastic products....The export value of agriculture products was low and yet to tap the local potential and advantage (annual export value of farm produce is 250 million USD).

To recover the shortcoming, the province has recently issued many policies and mechanizm to accelerate the development of commodity agriculture.
