Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Thue Thien – Hue provincial authority, said that although regional agriculture has made considerable strides in recent years, it continues to confront a number of constraints and deficiencies, including a lack of sustainability and a lack of competitive capacity. Post-harvest preservation and processing are still undeveloped, as are unbranded goods and firms' involvement in agricultural and rural regions. Particularly, the use of modern technologies is limited, while organic agriculture is conscientious but ineffective.

According to Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, for agriculture in Thua Thien-Hue to develop sustainably, it is necessary to renew mechanisms and policies, with a particular emphasis on land policy; reorganize production, develop, and attract enterprises to invest in agriculture; and promote the application of science and technology, particularly advanced and high technology.

Paying special emphasis to the promotion of organic agriculture, circular agriculture, and the use of biotechnology... in order to promote agriculture in Thua Thien-Hue in a safe, adaptable, and environmentally friendly manner.

The authority anticipated that the FAO and NAEC would work with Thua Thien-Hue province to find suitable solutions to assist the province's agriculture sector is growing quicker, stronger, and more sustainably in the future, in keeping with the country's and world's overall trend.

NAEC's Director Le Quoc Thanh was very appreciative of the province's agricultural and rural development potentials and benefits. Simultaneously, he said that the center has historically paid attention to and supported communities in terms of both professional labor and financing sources for agricultural extension operations.

NAEC will continue to collaborate with Thua Thien – Hue province to develop agricultural extension activities focused on the province's main force agriculture program, indigenous plants, and livestock, new advanced technology, including biological technologies, new cultivation, and mechanism; production and consumption chains to elevate product values; production in conjunction with food safety and environmental protection.

"MARD has released a document tasked institutions and sectors with collaborating with the province to establish ecological and high-quality organic agriculture regions and a model of large-scale FSC-certified wood plantations. Additionally, the NAEC promotes local agricultural extension via community extension models "Mr. Thanh said.

Mr. Rémi Nono Womdim, FAO Representative in Vietnam, offered his appraisal on the agricultural sector's progress in Thua Thien-Hue in recent years, particularly in terms of organic and green agriculture development and natural resource management.

Simultaneously, Mr. Rémi Nono Womdim said that FAO and MARD have a long history of collaboration in sustainable agricultural development, disaster reduction, and assistance for rural development in Vietnam.

Accordingly, FAO and the National Center for Agricultural Extension will collaborate with Thua Thien-Hue province to support the development of organic agriculture, eco-agricultural production associated with tourism, expanding market relations, and guiding biosecurity in livestock production, as well as providing support and training to the local people.
