After 5 years of implementing the Program on Action Program on Agricultural Development and New-style Rural Construction in association with ecotourism for the 2016-2020 period, Phu Giao district’s agricultural sector has fostered in the right direction towards goods production in association with the market. The sector’s production value has reached the annual growth of 5.52%.
The district’s total area for growing perennial trees is now 37,614 hectares with the annual growth of 0.25%. Along with rubber trees, the district has formed up concentrated areas on growing fruit trees along rivers, streams. The district now has around 1,300 hectares of green-skin pomelo, tangerine, seedless lemon. The annual value of the district’s agricultural production is around VND75million per hectare. For the district’s areas growing fruit trees, the annual value of production is VND500million and above per hectare…Invested by U&I Agricultural Joint Stock Company, An Thai hi-tech industrial park has also lured visitors for learning experience in the field of growing fruit trees and created jobs for the local laborers.
So far, the local people have bravely developed large-scale farms with hi-tech application, initially bringing hi-ecomomic efficiency and step by step contributing to improving the spiritual and material lives of locals, promoting the local stable economic growth. Tapping tourist potential
Phu Giao district now has a total of 34 accomodation business facilities with more than 400 rooms, including 6 meeting standards by provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
District-based tourist sites include Suoi Rac ecotourism in An Binh commune, Song Be bridge relic, Thanh Nguyen Truc Lam Zen Monastery in Tam Lap commune’s Cay Kho hamlet…The districy also has 3 provincial-level relics, namely the Palace of Phuoc Thanh provincial chief (now being the district’s Museum), the broken Phuoc Hoa bridge and Buu Phuoc pagoda in Phuoc Hoa commune…
The district has continued implementing a program on the shift of agricultural sector towards hi-tech models in association with processing industry, new-style rural construction, environmental protection towards sustainable development. The district has also linked with travel companies to absorb more tourists; combined hi-tech agriculture with tourism development…In addition, the district will set up a program on ecotourism development in hi-tech agricultural parks in association with tourism exploitation on Phuoc Hoa lake.
To well realize the above-mentioned plan, the district will set up some pilot models, including ecological farms along rivers, streams…This is one of the local solutions for tourism development, contributing to increasing incomes and reducing poverty among locals.
