HÀ NỘI — An exhibition and trade fair on technology for the shrimp sector will be held from April 27 to 29 in the southern province of Bạc Liêu.
Nguyễn Viết Thắng, chairman of the Vietnam Fisheries Society, made the announcement on Wednesday.
Themed “Renovation for the shrimp industry’s development,” the exhibition will include a fact-finding tour and conferences on technology renovation, where international and domestic experts will gather to discuss issues related to seafood breeding and processing and the application of science and technology in the sector.
The trade fair will feature 150 booths of foreign and local enterprises, presenting products and services such as breeding, machines and equipment, and logistics facilities serving the shrimp industry in particular and the seafood sector in general.
Chairman of the Bạc Liêu Province’s People’s Committee Dương Thành Trung said the trade fair is expected to contribute to promoting shrimp cultivation and processing, thereby helping realise the government’s target of turning the province into a national shrimp hub.
