The batch was imported by Billyan Global Resources Company (in Kuala Lumpur) and Vietnam’s Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro), Vietnam News Agency reported.

After seeing the high demand for the fruit, Billyan Global Resources has decided to increase Vietnamese lychee imports for sale in Kuala Lumpur and nearby states, such as Selangor.

In the time ahead, an additional 20 containers, each weighing nearly 10 tons, will be shipped to Malaysia.

According to national ratio station VOV, back in 2015, imported Vietnamese lychees were warmly welcomed in Klang city of Malaysia.

Apart from Malaysia, Vietnamese lychees have also been present in several demanding markets such as the US, Australia, Japan, and Europe.

William Tan, director of Billyan Global Resources Company, said he had sampled the lychee and found that the lychee was very succulent and delicious, so he wants to introduce the fruit in Malaysia and believes that Malaysian consumers will like it.

Vietnamese Commercial Counsellor in Malaysia Pham Quoc Anh said the Vietnamese Trade Office has partnered with authorities to bring Vietnamese lychees and other local goods, such as fruits and vegetables, seafood, and processed foods, to Malaysia.

He advised Vietnamese enterprises to improve their product design, quality, and delivery standards to increase their market share in Malaysia.
