The DOC on August 21 announced that the 0% tariff will be applied to the two mandatory respondents in the review, Sao Ta Foods JSC and Nha Trang Seaproduct Company. The other 30 enterprises shipping shrimp to the United States will be subject to the same rate at 0%.

Earlier, the DOC in a preliminary finding concluded that the two mandatory respondents did not dump their shrimp products on the U.S. market, making them exempt from antidumping tariffs when exporting shrimp to America between February 1, 2017, and January 31, 2018.

Other Vietnamese shrimp exporters who had submitted applications to enjoy the preferential tariffs or pledged to send no shipments of shrimp to the United States during the given period were subject to the 0% tariff as well.

Overall, the antidumping tariffs for local shrimp exporters assigned at the release of the preliminary and final results of the POR 13 remain unchanged.

The DOC’s final conclusion proves that local shrimp exporters have run transparent businesses. They have fully reported accurate business figures to the DOC in a timely manner.

The final result, the best recorded among the DOC’s 13 reviews on antidumping tariffs on Vietnamese shrimp exported to the United States, is great news for the local shrimp sector, encouraging local shrimp operators to bolster their business development.
