Vietnam and Norway boost seafood consumption and enhance quality

On May 24, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg agreed to boost consumption and enhance quality of seafood of each other (Vietnamese pangasius, Norwegian salmon…)

Two leaders highly evaluate bilateral cooperation in specialties which has brought remarkable achievements, especially in forestry, environment, aquatic products, renewable energy, sea transport, and ship building. The Prime Ministers agreed that the relation between two countries in trade and investment was going well but had not exploited potential and strength of both nations.

Accordingly, two countries agreed to boost the negotiation of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and Europe Free Trade Association with Norway playing as the coordinator. In the talk, two leaders encouraged companies of two nations continue to broaden their business investment cooperation, especially in significant industries such as solar energy, oil service, green maritime economy. They encouraged to boost seafood consumption and enhance seafood quality of each other (Vienamese pangasius, Norwegian salmon).

Two Prime Ministers appraised the Vietnamese – Norwegian business Forum in Olso that helped businesses of both nations seek opportunities of cooperation and investment.
