Tan Yen yields about 160 tonnes of star apple fruits

According to the representative of Hop Duc Star Apple Fruits Production and Consumption Cooperative, there are about 20 hectares growing the star apple fruit under VietGAP ready to be harvested in the whole district of Tan Yen, Bac Giang province.

The areas are mostly located at the communes of Hop Duc, Viet Lap and Cao Xa. The farmers started harvesting the fruits to sell at an average price of 30 – 40,000 VND (1.32 – 1.75 USD) per kilogram. The district productivity is estimated at 160 tonnes of fruits, up 50 tonnes comparing to the previous crop.

Targeting at a high economic value from the fruit farming, the agriculture encouragement staff in the communes and cooperative’s members have instructed the farmers to sufficiently water the trees so that the fruits have good taste and appearance.
