China’s largest feed aquatic manufacturer, Tongwei Group, was promoting its solar-powered fish farms at the Asia-Pacific Seafood Expo.

Tongwei, which besides being a huge feed-maker also manufactures solar panels, installs the panels above aquaculture ponds and then connects them to the electricity grid.

So far Tongwei has installed solar panels above approximately 10,000 mu of aquaculture ponds, an employee at the show told Undercurrent News, producing 100 gigawatts of electricity.
