Soc Trang is the province that exports the most seafood, including shrimp in Vietnam over the first seven months of this year.

According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exports and Processing, Soc Trang province topped the nation in seafood exports in July, accounting for USD 570 million, or 11.3 percent of total turnover. Whereas shrimp exports accounted for 94 percent of the overall, totaling USD 535 million, the remainder included grilled fish, surimi, squid, octopus, and other mollusks.

Soc Trang also ranked top in shrimp exports, accounting for almost a quarter of all shrimp exports in the nation. White-leg shrimp account for up to 95 percent of shrimp export value, while black tiger shrimp account for just 4 percent.

The province now has 20 seafood export businesses, the largest five of which specialize in shrimp processing and export, accounting for 75 percent of provincial export revenue.

Ca Mau ranks second in seafood exports, with USD 543 million in revenue, accounting for 10.7 percent of total revenue in the first seven months of this year. Additionally, it excels in shrimp cultivation, processing, and exporting.

Ca Mau's shrimp exports accounted for 91 percent of the province's seafood export value in the first seven months. Fish cakes, surimi, are the second-largest exported product, accounting for almost 6 percent of total exports.

Ca Mau placed top in the nation in terms of black tiger shrimp exports, with over USD175 million, accounting for 54 percent of total turnover in the first seven months of the year. Minh Phu, Minh Cuong, Anh Khoa, CASES, Phu Cuong-Kien Cuong, and Nam Viet are among the businesses presently exporting a huge volume of black tiger shrimp.

Ca Mau has about 60 seafood exporters, with the top five contributing for 69 percent of the province's seafood exports. They are Minh Phu, Cases, Minh Quy, CAMIMEX, and SEAPRIMEXCO.
