The social distancing has been removed since April 22, resulting in expectation in growing demand in domestic shrimp. The pangasius material market is still flat.

Prices of pangasius material in the Mekong Delta in Mar 2020 ranged at 18,000-18,200 dong/kg. Companies maintain their production at the rate upon the reduction since early April 2020. Demand in pangasius experienced a downward trend in early April, prices were more stable than the previous month. Besides, in this month the market of pangasius material in the Mekong Delta was flat due to the drop in orders from most importers. Meanwhile, sales of Vietnamese pangasius to the US are low and saw a slump in two weeks, Mar 25-31 (-40%) and April 01-04 (-50%). In the first quarter of 2020, pangasius exports to the EU market decreased slightly by 5% in quantity but it saw a slump in value compared to the same period last year.
