Seafood exports is estimated to reach $800 million in August.
According to the import and export department of (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade), the seafood export value is estimated to reach $800 million in August, down 5.6% in volume and 2.1% in value as compared to the same period last year.
According to the Import and Export Department, Vietnam brought $800 million from exporting 180 thousand tons of seafood, down 5.6% in volume and 2.1% in value compared to the same period last year. The seafood export value in the first eight months of 2020 is estimated to reach 1.237 million tons, valued at $5.19 billion, down 5.41% in volume and 5.64% in value compared to the same period last year.
The US, Japan, China and Korea are top four destinations of Vietnamese seafood in the first seven month of 2020, accounting for 60% of the total value of the country’s seafood exports.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect Vietnam’s seafood exports to the world in quarter in-pond nursery of 2020.
According to experts, seafood export value in 2020 may reach $8.26 – 8.3 billion, down 3.8% as compared to the same period last year. At present, Vietnamese seafood has specific competitive strengths against its competitors such as India, Ecuador due to prompt recovery of production after the COVID-19 pandemic.
