Particularly, Cambodia will plant 500,000 hectares of cashew.

Vinacas and Vietnamese cashew enterprises pledged to purchase all of cashew being harvested from the Cambodia producers.

Before 2014, Cambodia only provided around 30 percent of cashew output to Vietnam; however, the number of cashew output increased more than 90 percent and the country has become the fifth big raw cashew provider of Vietnam during recent two years.

Currently, Cambodia is one of few countries to produce high- quality raw cashew so the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the country has paid more attention to new cashew cultivation in order to improve farmer’s life.

According to Head of the Ministry's Agriculture General Department and an Envoy of the Cambodian Government Hean vann Horn, the country’s cashew framing area covers 100,000 hectares.

Cambodia desired to receive Vinacas’s support in the process of seed choice, cultivation, harvested and management technology to increase cashew productivity and quality, aiming to ensure profit for farmers.

On the occasion, Vinacas decided to provide VND 1.5 billion aid to the neighboring country to develop cashew farming area in the period of 2018-2022.

In Vietnam, domestic raw cashew output only meets 20- 35 percent of the firms' demand so the enterprises have imported raw cashew from Africa.
