Ninh Thuận - Seafood prices increased
Prices of many types of seafood at fish markets of Ninh Thuận ports increase from 15 – 20%, demand also increases after the Lunar New Year.
As recorded at Nại market (Ninh Hải), black tiger shrimp is priced at 350,000 – 370,000 VND/kg; mackerel has prices ranging from 170,000 to 220,000 VND/kg; the price of raw sea crabs ranges from 260,000 to 280,000 VND/kg, raw crabs are from 220,000 to 270,000 VND/kg, oysters are priced at 120,000 – 140,000 VND/kg, snails are priced from 300,000 – 330,000 VND/kg, squid priced from 250,000 to 300,000 VND/kg, tuna has prices ranging from 50,000 to 80,000 VND/kg. Other types of seafood also increased from 10,000 to 20,000 VND/kg.
Seafood prices increased due to the increasing demand for seafood to exchange dishes because most people consumed a lot of meat in the past days. Moreover, after Tet holiday, many fishermen’s fishing boats have not returned to sea to exploit, the supply source is not diversified and plentiful, causing prices to increase. According to traders’ forecasts, seafood prices will decrease gradually, but it will not be stable after the full moon in January.
