Can Tho (VNA) – An international fair on high-tech farming industry, held in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, saw technology transfer deals worth 6 billion VND signed on its opening day – November 23.

At the opening ceremony, the organising board presented patent certificates to seven farmers in the delta for their invention of machines serving agricultural production.

The fair features 450 stalls from 300 firms from the Republic of Korea, Japan, China, Germany, the US, among others, up 25 and 20 percent from last year’s edition.

Agricultural machines, assembly lines, fertilizers, bio-technology products, and farm produce are among commodities displayed at the expo.

Truong Quang Hoai Nam, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee, said the event is an opportunity for participating enterprises to promote trade and partnerships, introduce their products and get update on advanced technologies.

On the sidelines of the fair, which lasts until November 27, seminars on high tech farming and rice supply, as well as programmes on innovative farmers and consultancy for farmers are scheduled to take place
