Farmers in Ben Cat contribute to economic development

The emulation movement of “good farmer in production-business” absorbed the participation of numerous members of Dau Tieng district’s Farmers’Society over the past years. Active emulation with contributions

For the emulation movement of “good farmer in production-business” getting high results, Ben Cat town’s Farmers’ Association over the past five years supported more than VND24billion from the local Support Fund for Farmers, VND79billion from the local branch of the Bank for Social Policies…for more than 1,600 needy farming households, helping them escape poverty. There were also nearly 26,000 members winning the “good farmer in production-business” title at all levels, up 24.5% compared to the set target.

The girdle cake making facility of Nguyen Thanh Rang in Ben Cat town’s Phu An commune is equipped with the state-of-the-art machines for high productivity and quality.

Members of the association have also actively upheld their role in new rural construction. Over the past five years, the local people contributed more than 7,300 working days, nearly VND4.8billion to making 221 kilometers of rural roads; dredged and upgraded 159 kilometers of canals; realized a model on waste collection…All actively contributed to fulfilling the local task on new rural construction.

Effective models

Girdle cake is one of Phu An commune’s specific products in Ben Cat town. In recent years, many girdle cake-making families have bravely innovated their production lines for better productivity. The family of Nguyen Thanh Rang is a typical example for this. Currently, his family can make 500kg of girdle cake every day, generating jobs for 20 laborers with the average income of VND200,000 per person per day.

With the support of Phu An communal Farmers’ Society, Mr.Rang set up Phu An girdle cake cooperative group in 2014. He said that thanks to the birth of the cooperative group, the price of girdle cake has so far increased to VND40,000-VND60,000 per kg.

In Chanh Phu Hoa ward, the model of growing makara orchids is on vigorous development. Nguyen Hong Dieu residing in quarter 1B said that thanks to the attention and support of the local Farmers’ Society, she has successfully developed her orchid garden with the annual income of more than VND700million, creating jobs for 15 laborers with the average income of VND4million-VND10million per person per month…

The town is also home to many other effective models, namely the model of breeding cows in Hoa Loi, Thoi Hoa wards and Phu An commune; the model of growing yellow apricot blossom plants; the model of planting safe vegetables in My Phuoc ward…Noticeably, each locality has received orientations to uphold effective models from the town’s Farmers’ Society. This has contributed to promoting the local hi-tech and urban agricultural models.
