Farmers get rich amid agriculture reaching shift in right direction

Ben Cat town’s Farmers ‘Association has gained improvements in operation, upholding its crucial role in farmers ‘movements and new-style rural construction, actively contributing to fulfilling the local targets on socio-economic development.

Helping each other in getting rich

The town’s Farmers ‘Association has always supported farmers in developing animals and crop plants while launching emulation movements, thereby contributing to enhancing the lives of farmers. Noticeably, the emulation movement of “good farmers in production and business” has actively contributed to the local comprehensive agricultural development. There are now many outstanding farmers in production and business from the emulation movement.

Nguyen Hong Dieu in Chanh Phu Hoa ward’s quarter 1B is one of the town’s typical farmers in production and business with the model of growing mokara orchids. Currently, she can earn nearly VND600million in annual profit from her orchid garden. With the model of growing orchids and supplying fresh flowers, she offers seasonal jobs to 10 laborers with the monthly income of VND6million per person. She is also ready to share experience in orchid growing with other farmers and supporting them about consumption market.

Or, Nguyen Van Thang in Tan Dinh ward is also well-known with the model of breeding quails, bringing him the annual income of VND400million. Along with breeding 50,000 quails for egg, he has got involved in making quails breeding facilities; shared experience in animal husbandry with other farmers…

Upholding efficiency

In fact, the town is now home to many other effective models, including the model of breeding cows in Hoa Loi, Thoi Hoa wards and Phu An commune; the model of growing apricot in An Tay commune; the model of growing safe vegetables in My Phuoc ward…It is known that the town’s Farmers ‘Association has had orientations upholding agricultural models in line with soil conditions in each commune, ward. This has contributed to promoting the local urban and hi-tech agricultural models, stabilizing the local shift of animals and crop plants.

Possibly speaking, the town’s Farmers ‘Associations at all levels promoted the emulation movement of “good farmer in production-business” and received enthusiastic response from officials and members over the past time. Over the past 5 years, there were 19,793 members winning the title of good farmer in production and business or 88% of total.
