More than 40 organic food and beverage manufacturers from 14 European countries will showcase their high quality organic products to Southeast Asian customers in May through Singapore and Vietnam markets.

They will take part in the EuroSphere exhibition which is set to transpire in Ho Chi Minh City on May 18-20 to seek domestic distributors, importers and exporters and supermarket, hotel, café pub and restaurant chains.

Vu Kim Hanh, president of High Quality Vietnamese Product Business Association, says organic food has become a hot trend in Vietnam. With an annual market capacity of VND3,500 billion, domestic businesses want to share experience in producing and expanding market with partners from other countries, including the EU.

Ambassador Bruno Angelet, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, says food safety is one of greatest concerns in Vietnam and its customers tend to use organic or non-chemical products.

The EU regularly checks and monitors each phase of organic chains to ensure high quality products. Through the visit, EU businesses hope to present their organic food and beverages to Vietnamese customers, says Mr Angelet.

Joonas Püvi, representing Salvest company from Estonia, says the organic food market is very potential. With increasing income, customers are willing to pay for high quality food. This is a good chance for organic food businesses such as Salvest to penetrate Southeast Asian market.
