Enhancing values of Bac Giangs farm produce

In 2019, the Department of Industry and Trade supported enterprises and cooperatives producing under the value chain in Bac Giang province in packaging design, labeling and stamping origin traceability helping them to improve goods value and boost consumption.

Beautiful designs, convenient consumption

The Department of Industry and Trade (DOIT) spent the provincial distributed budget to support 10 enterprises and cooperatives to establish and develop commodity farm produce meeting the provincial standards in the period from 2019 to 2021 aiming at the products of Luc Ngan lychee, Chu rice noodle and Yen The hill grazed chicken. Particularly, DOIT focuses on supporting packaging design, labeling and stamping origin traceability

Thuan Huong Chu rice noodle producing and consuming cooperative in Nam Duong commune, Luc Ngan district is one of the beneficiaries from the project. “The company is producing two brands of noodle including Green Chu noodle (a high quality product) and Thuan Huong rice noodle. Early this year, the cooperative invested some hundreds million VND including over 100 million VND (some 4,300 USD) funded by DOIT to buy facilities, expand the factory and improve packaging and labeling”, said Dao Thi Huong, the cooperative’s director.

The cooperative imports packages from Japan for wrapping Green Chu noodle, which is a good choice as a gift. Thanks to the new package, the supermarkets and restaurants have signed contracts to consume this product with bigger volume than before. Currently, the cooperative supplies about 30 tonnes of noodle every month to the supermarkets and big stores nationwide.

Another case is the linkage model breeding, slaughtering and consuming Yen The hill grazed chicken of Giang Son Joint Stock Company in Dong Tam commune, Yen The district established in 2013. Their products could not find stable market due to lack of origin traceability stamps. In 2019, the company was funded for packaging designs and stamping origin traceability on chicken meat and other products from chicken.

Currenty, the company has signed contracts with 80 households raising chicken under VietGAP procedures in Dong Tam commune to consume Yen The hill grazed chicken. The brood of chicken of the cooperative’s members reaches nearly 2,000. The company supplies more than 1 tonne of slaughtered chicken, 500 kilos of chicken pie and sausage per day to Hapro, Coopmart and Metro super markets.

Apart from 2 products above, the competent agency has accepted the products of 8 other units meeting the provincial standards on commodity farm produce including the cooperatives of Nam The rice noodle production and consumption, Xuan Truong rice noodle, Hien Phuoc rice noodle production and trading, Hong Xuan agricultural production and trading, An Phat production and Trade in Luc Ngan district and Yen The Green Agriculture and the companies such as Viet Lai Phat Investment Joint Stock Company, Hung Thao Trade and Export-Import Company Limited in Luc Ngan district.

Continue to expand the models

According to Le Quang Tu, Head of Trade Management Division, DOIT, the establishment of commodity farm produce meeting the provincial criteria is aimed to create good quality products with stamps and labels conforming to the international standards

The provincial key farm products are ensured large production scale, high added value with typical features driving development of local agriculture. Besides, these products are applied advanced science and technologies in production. They enjoy large and stable consumption market in the region and export markets.

In order to finalize and promote efficiency of the project, the Trade Management Division consulted the DOIT to support packaging design, stamping and labeling for the enterprises and cooperatives with 5 selected products including Ban Ven tea, Lang Giang mushroom, Van village liquor, Luc Ngan orange and pomelo and Luc Nam custard apple.

Besides, the department funded to buy machinery and install high-quality management system for the beneficiaries. They will proactively build the linkage and balance benefits of the people, enterprises and cooperatives.

Apart from the provided support, some enterprises and cooperatives took initiative in promoting their products on social network and trade fairs while improving the product quality and designs meeting the increasingly high demands of the market.
