Effective models

Over the past time, the shift of the province’s agricultural strucure actively contributed to the local common growth. The province’s agricultural structure continued shifting towards making products with high value and efficiency. As of late 2017, the sector’s total average production value reached VND 95million per hectare. According to provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DoARD), the whole province has built 4 hi-tech agricultural parks of 979.71 hectares with a total investment capital of more than 782.24billion.

Farmers in the province have also bravely applied sci-tech advancements and VietGap standards into production for higher productivity and quality. Noticeably, An Thai hi-tech park has so far used 408.9 out of 411.75 hectares for growing various bananas, rock melons and citrus plants. For rock melons, the park can reach the annual revenue of VND3billion per hectare per year. The total revenue of bananas herein is around VND400million per hectare per year…

Currently, products of An Thai hi-tech park are exported to Japan, South Korea, UAE, Malaysia…The investor of the park has also signed contacts supplying products to supermarkets, namely Saigon Coop, Big C, Aeon, Lotte…

In North Tan Uyen, Dau Tieng, Phu Giao districts and Tan Uyen town, farmers have actively applied sci-tech advancements into production with the average productivity of 30-40 tons per hectare and average revenue of VND300million-VND500million per year…

Sci-tech application promoted

According to provincial DoARD, the rate of using new varieties in animal husbandry and cultivation has reached 80%-100% with the average productivity of 5%-10% per year and the quality of products improved. There are now 100% of perennial farming land mechanized and more than 65% of farmsteads on animal husbandry under hi-tech models with hi-economic efficiency. The province has also effectively implemented support policies for agricultural development with urban and hi-tech models. As of now, there have been 56 cultivation methods with a total area of more than 300 hectares getting preferential loans. The province has also advocated 44 farmsteads with VietGAP certifications with more than VND1.6billion.

However, the local hi-tech agricultural sector has also faced shortcomings on materials, consumption market…for change. To redress them, provincial DoARD and Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) worked with the People’s Committee of Bau Bang, North Tan Uyen districts, supermarkets (namely Co.opmart 1 Binh Duong, Lotte Binh Duong, Aeon Citimart), cooperatives that have the demand for supporting consumption for various citrus trees. Provincial DoIT also teamed up with HCM city’s DoIT to support agricultural production organizations and individuals to sign contacts on product consumption with distributors…In the coming time, provincial DoIT and DoARD will further increase trade promotion, aiming to support consumption market for the local agricultural products.
