Developing Dong Suong organic vegetable brand

Dong Suong Organic Agricultural Cooperative in Thanh Lap commune, Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province was established in 2017. The 33-member cooperates to form a specialized farming area to produce goods in chains, providing markets safe agricultural products.

The total production land area of ​​the cooperative is 3.3 ha with over 40 types of vegetables and fruits, the average output of over 6 tons of vegetables, tubers, fruits per month, the price is 16.000 VND per kg, bringing a stable income regulations of 3.5 - 4 million VND per person per month.

In order to have organic vegetables and fruit products that ensure food quality and safety, it is necessary to select varieties, grow vegetables according to natural organic methods, absolutely guarantee the environmental safety standards and food safety. Members strictly follow 6 principles: Do not plant on soil and water contaminated with agrochemicals; Do not use: herbicides, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, growth stimulants, genetically modified varieties.

Vegetable growers must attend a 3-month technical training course and be granted a certificate to grow organic vegetables. Different from conventional vegetable growing method, the soil of organic vegetables is planned into a region, tested to ensure no contamination of toxic substances, with a buffer zone to avoid outside contamination. Most of the organic vegetables and fruits of the cooperative are sold to shops and supermarkets in Hanoi through three main focal points: VinaGap Company, Trang An Company and Tam Dat Company.

Dong Suong Cooperative has participated in the District's Organic Vegetable Production Group, integrated in the organization of the Farmers' Union of Luong Son district, under the supervision of the Association.

The organic vegetable products of the cooperative are managed and maintained by the District Farmers' Union which maintains a collective brand of organic jasmine, organic vegetables and fruits till 2024. Organic vegetable products are currently sold at a stable price according to the price.

This is a collective trademark recognized by the National Office of Intellectual Property and recognized by the Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Vietnam Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Management Department. Products keep the reputation of product quality with consumers inside and outside Hoa Binh province.
