According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), on 17th May 2017, the Prime Minister issued Directive No.20 / CT-TTg on reorganizing inspection and examination for enterprises. Accordingly, the number of inspections does not exceed once a year for enterprises," attaching importance to renovating, developing, approving and directing and implementing the inspections plans to overcome the overlap, duplication and to minimize trouble for businesses.

However, as reflected by the VASEP member companies, the inspection was still inadequate, complicated and not in line with Directive 20 / CT-TTg. The VASEP conducted a preliminary survey and concluded that the number of inspections by state management agencies in enterprises in 2017 was still high, many enterprises were inspected 6-7 times per year, even up to 2 inspections for the same field.

In cooperation with the Government and for the great significance of the Directive, as an active member of the Prime Minister's Advisory Council for Administrative Reform, the VASEP has sent an Official Letter No. 202/2017 / CV-VASEP requesting the Council to pay attention to thePrime Minister’s report for timely solutions to remove problems in inspections for the business community in accordance with the spirit ofDirective 20/CT-TTg, and enhance competitiveness of Vietnam’s seafood exporters.
