The Center of Agriculture Encouragement under the Bac Giang provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is implementing the model of “Raising 180 swarms of domestic bee under Vietnamese Good Agricultural Husbandry Practices (VietGAHP)” at 9 households in the communes of Tam Tien (Yen The district) and Yen Dinh (Son Dong district).

The staff of the provincial Center of Agriculture Encouragement hands over the bees to the farmers in Yen Dinh commune (Son Dong district).

VietGAHP is a good bee raising practice to ensure the quality of the main products such as the honey, pollen, queen bee milk and wax glue.

Applying the method, the farmers must select a cool clean and dry place to raise the bees, avoiding the water ditch and restroom. The supplement food should have clear origin without any harmful chemical and plant protection products. Besides, a record is created to follow the bees’ development while a plan is made to prevent the possible diseases.

The prominent advantage of VietGAHP includes the good management, prevention and limitation of diseases invasion, helping the beehives well grow and develop to target at 12 – 15 liters of honey per swarm on a yearly basis, increasing 2 – 5 liters comparing to the output of traditional raising method.

As the schedule, it will be executed from now on till November 2018. Under the model, the participants are facilitated with the breed, food and caring technique.
