Bac Giang develops hi-tech commodity agriculture production

In 2018, Bac Giang province boosted up switching the crop structure that closely attached to build hi-tech farming models, expand production areas under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards so as to improve the quality and competitiveness. 

Bac Giang continues following hi-tech commodity agriculture production.

The cultivation area of quality rice reached nearly 36,000 hectares (up 4 percent), yielding some 220,000 tonnes (up 3.9 percent). The safe vegetables and vegetables for processing were grown in more than 7,100 hectares (up 4.8 percent) with the productivity of about 140,000 tonnes (rising 7.8 percent).

Besides, the province has some 14,000 hectares growing the lychee under VietGAP standard (increasing 7.6 percent), about 4,500 hectares growing orange (up 14.7 percent) with an estimated output of nearly 30,000 tonnes (up 12 percent), some 4,200 hectares growing pomelo (up 10 percent) with the productivity of over 23,000 tonnes (rising 22.4 percent) among others.

To date, Bac Giang has 71 hi-tech models, rising 50 models and 163 exemplary fields, up 49 fields against the figures last year.

In 2019, the locality continues following hi-tech commodity agriculture production, encourages to facilitate and develop the enterprises who invest in the farming sector while enhancing the application of science and technology into the agriculture field in order to increase the rate of commodities produced under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.

Additionally, the province focuses on trade promotion, market connection, trademark building and origin traceability for the staple, signature and potential farm products in the local areas toward expanding the consumption markets domestically and internationally.
