Bac Giang consumes over 151,000 tonnes of lychee, accounting for 80 percent of productivity

As of June 21, Bac Giang province sold more than 151,000 tonnes of lychee with the price of 12 – 55,000 VND per kg of fresh fruit, accounting for about 80 percent of the productivity, reported the provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT).  

Of which, Luc Ngan district sold over 83,600 tonnes of lychees, Luc Nam sold over 30,300 tonnes, Tan Yen sold over 15,500 tonnes, Lang Giang sold over 5,400 tonnes, Yen The sold 8,800 tonnes and Son Dong sold over 7,600 tonnes.

According to DoIT, this year, lychees were consumed smoothly in both domestic and export markets with about 29,000 tonnes sold to Southern provincies and over 64,000 tonnes exported to several markets of Japan, Netherlands, German, Australia, Cambodia, China, Thailand, Singapore...

Particularly amid the impact of Covid-19 pandemic, the departments, sectors and local authorities joined hands with farmers to accelerate e-commerce activities to sell more than 5,200 tonnes of lychees on 7 big national and international e-commerce platforms as well as several online selling channels such as zalo, facebook...

At the same time, some localities supported farmers to revamp and build lychee driers to dry about 24,000 tonnes of fruits which are sold easily with the price of 25 – 28,000 VND per kg.

According to the plan and actual production situation, the local farmers will complete harvesting lychees in the next 10 days.
