AquaSmart to Hold Aquaculture Data Analytics Workshop in Dublin
IRELAND - Following the recent successful presentations at the 5th Annual World Congress of Aquaculture and Fisheries in China and the Aquaculture Summit in Malaysia, the aquaSmart consortium is pleased to hold a data analytics workshop event in Dublin, Ireland, on the 16 December 2016 for the fish farming community.
The workshop is centred on the successful project aquaSmart, which was driven by the very active end users in the project - Andromeda Group (Spain), Ardag Ashdod (Israel) and Grammos (Greece). The ultimate aim of aquaSmart was to develop a data analytics software platform, which can be used to deliver real results for fish farmers and this is now being realised.
According to Nir Tzohari, Production Manager at Ardag Ashdod fish farming site: "With aquaSmart we can really dig into the data and we can easily analyse the data and figures and their relationship against the performances in a very clear and easy manner. In doing so, aquaSmart helps us to put the spot light on the points of our operations where treatment and improvement are needed."
"Moreover, all of this gives us the opportunity to create a model and immediately thereafter to take more informed decisions and make predictions. I really believe that aquaSmart will move the industry forward by making all size of farms, from big enterprises to small scale, being able to make good analysis through all of the grow-out steps."
AquaSmart is now positioned to help aquaculture companies to transform their raw data into knowledge via accurate business-driven analytical models, in a seamless and efficient manner. The platform enables fish farmers to use this knowledge with the intent to dramatically improve their production performance.
The ‘aquaSmart Analysis Training Programme’ workshop offers services, activities and materials to help deliver for fish farmers the skills and competences for the effective running of the platform and facilitate new business incomes.
Close aquaculture industry liaison has been a key characteristic of the aquaSmart project.
The workshop introduces data analytics to fish farmers, demonstrates the platform and provides details on business cases for the fish farming community. The platform will be made available for free to use for a limited period. We would like to invite interested parties from the aquaculture community to the workshop in Dublin on the 16th December 2016.
