The start of Bình Phú hi-tech agricultural zone, which is invested 4 trillion dong (USD 171.9 million) by Nam Việt Bình Phú Aquaculture One Member Limited Company (under Nam Việt Group), was carried out in the morning January 08, 2019 in Bình Phú commune, Châu Phú district, An Giang province.

The 600ha project is divided into two sections. One is high quality pangasius nursery which is 150ha and invested 1 trillion dong. The nursery is expected to produce around 360 million fries, most of which goes to the Group’s farming areas and the rest being sold. The other one is hi-tech agricultural zone for aquaculture and commercial pangasius farming which is 450ha and costs 3,000 trillion dong with expectedproduction of 200,000 tons of material pangaius for processing and exports. This is the largest scale pangasius farming project in Vietnam ever.

The project is equipped with modern, synchronous and specialized machines, using nano bubble technology and bakture from Japan to treat water in ponds. The technology can be very beneficial for water quality in natural waterways as there’s no need to discharge water out there or remove mud from the bottom of ponds by the existing mechanical method. This can help conserve the ecology system in the surroundings.

Of all the plans, the project’s aim is to complete a sustainable value chain. Nam Việt Group will have it own supply to meet export processing demand and improve fingerling production. Moreover, the project will lower production cost to enhance the product’s competitiveness.

Chairman and General Director of Nam Việt Group said land clearance has been completed 80%, so the zone will be in operation in 2020 with 100% products be exported, contributing further 150 million USD export value per year to the Group.

In his speech at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of An Giang People’s Committee Lê Văn Nưng committed that the Provincial Party, Province People’s Committee, and local authorities would create favorable conditions for the project to be commenced soon. “We have strong faith that Bình Phú hi-tech agricultural zone will be successful beyond expectations because Nam Việt Group has promoted worthwhile investment in years”, said Nưng.
