As informed by Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, with the lowest selling price of AUD 18/kg, the total value of the 22 tons of frozen dracontomelon shipment consumed in the Australian market can bring in a large turnover of over AUD 390,000 (over VND 6.5 billion).

Thus, with the harvest season lasting from June to September, the potential in regard to the turnover of dracontomelon is not inferior to some other fruits being exported to this country.

Based on the assessment of turnover, market, production area, and to diversify regional specialties for export in the context of Covid-19 having many inadequate impacts, the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia has accompanied Uu Dam Company to promote trade for Vietnamese dracontomelon in this market.

Accordingly, the Trade Office has arranged budgets for advertising on social networks in main consumption areas, as well as proposed and coordinated with businesses to carry out promotions which is “buy dracontomelon and win 10 gifts of Vietnamese edible bird's nest” and step by step promote the introduction into large distribution systems.

Moreover, the Trade Office is also preparing to introduce a culinary book for dracontomelon in English to do marketing to a variety of customer groups in Australia besides Vietnamese. The consistent policy of the Trade Office is to support and promote export agricultural branded products, competing in quality and design.

According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, although many cities are facing social distancing and export transportation is difficult, in the first 6 months of 2021, the export of vegetables and fruits to Australia has experienced record growth of more than 52%. over the same period in 2019, reaching more than USD 40 million. Including other key agricultural products such as cashew nuts, pepper, coffee, rice, agricultural product exports to Australia have reached nearly USD 110 million.
